Staffing Services

Neighbors Home Care Services provides five levels of Staffing Services :
  • Personal Care Aides (PCAs) provide homemaker and personal care services to individual clients needing partial, or total, assistance with everyday tasks such as dressing, feeding, walking, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry and personal hygiene. PCA's cannot perform health related tasks. PCA IIs are required to attend a 40-hour basic training course and 6 hours of in-house training annually.

  • Home Health Aides (HHAs) represent the highest level of paraprofessional in home care. Each of our HHAs is fully certified and has completed a minimum of a 75-hour training program which includes both classroom and laboratory/in-home training. In addition, all aides receive an additional 12 hours of in-service training annually. HHAs are qualified to perform health related tasks such as monitoring, temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure as well as personal care tasks. HHAs follow a plan of client care that is ordered by a Physician and outlined by a Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) are trained primarily to work in a nursing home setting. They are used by Neighbors Home Care Services on a limited basis to provide subcontracted staffing services to nursing homes and residential care facilities.

  • Licensed Practitioner Nurses (LPNs) are trained to administer medication and provide a variety of health related services.

  • Registered Nurses (RNs) are skilled professionals who are involved in the initial assessment of all new patients, prepare individualized patient care, supervise aides and provide ongoing training for aides. They can also provide wound care, administer medication and provide a wide range of nursing care.
